lol !!! you posted it !

Always hold tigh to the Present. Each condition, yes each moment is of unthinkable value, because this moment is the representative of an Eternity.

Hm, you're talking with poor goblins on such topics, and you don't include me.
Well, my opinion 2012 on Mayan's calendar is that what they actually discovered about it. Mayans were very accurate at calculating when next moon eclipse will happen, which day of the year has the longest night, they also could go so far into the future that they noted where the stars will be on their very spots (pin pointing the stars - Orion Nebula) and so on and on.
Over a year's time the Sun transits through the twelve houses of the zodiac. Many of us know this by what "Sun sign" is associated with our birthday. Upping the scale to the Platonic Year - the 26,000 year long cycle - we are shifting, astrologically, from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. The Mayan calendar does not really "end" in 2012, but rather, all the cycles turn over and start again, vibrating to a new era. It is as if humanity and the Earth will graduate in the eyes of the Father Sun and Grandmother Milky Way (and no, not the chocolate, but our Galaxy). That's it, end of story.
Read a book or two.
Read stuff on internet.
Watch the movie Zeitgeist.

And about Windows XP, or any other crap variants of Windows. Windows was made by people who get paid to do what they are doing. And after doing the OS, they are paid for repairing bugs. It was also noted that they leave some unfinished bug reports open, so they could actually have something to fix on Windows ... that's why there are so fucking many bugs there. If you compare it to Linux, Linux became popular in 1998 and it had around 30,000 users ... and it is an open source (free) OS and there's a difference between people who work for the good of others and themselves, and those who work to get paid. In 2003 there were 18 million users of Linux already, while in 2005 29 million ... it's spreading fast and it's already way better than Windows, in graphics, smoothness, practical use, everything ... even games are now working as they should be.

If I am right, perhaps, Windows XP might get perfected in year 2021 like Dwarfy said, but I'd say only 2% of computer users will use it (because they will be old fashioned), while rest will switch to Linux. Or if at least one of you guys ever heard of the term "Singularity" or read the book or found the phrase on internet "Singularity is near", than you might guess what's on my mind.

Your reasoning is excellent -- it's only your basic assumptions that are wrong.

Tur, I was kidding -.-. Just windows has a calender to 2099 to be sure that they will not need to make it bigger... no one will use xp at 2099, do you think Microsoft think world will end in 2099? xD I don't think so xD. About Maya, it's a LIE! they were too lazy to make it bigger. They thought: Ok guys, in next week we're gonna die, let's give up our job and have some fun! ^^.

He wanna kill me!

About that thing on Windows, I know you were kidding. But about the thing where Dwarf was thinking about year 2021 and that, it won't add up.
